Pickford had once drawn some criticism for flinching on the edge of his box, yet during Euro 2024, he proved himself an unlikely national hero, saving two Colombia penalties in a shoot-out and making other key interventions during the tournament.

Aebischer
Bukayo Saka was an unexpected bright spot in England’s backline against Italy last week, and she could play again on Tuesday against Portugal. Southgate plans on using five-at-the-back formation with goalkeeper as center half and Saka as left wingback – she may well replace Marc Guehi, who was forced out with a hamstring injury.

Ndoye should start in left-wing at Lille and has made rapid strides since his goal against Germany showed his ability to perform on the biggest stages.
Bologna signed him for eight to 10 million euros from FC Basel and since has made him an integral member of their attack, alongside Michel Aebischer and Remo Freuler. There have been reports linking him with Manchester United, who have made contact with Bologna but no agreement has yet been made between parties involved.
Rodriguez
England have survived an extra-time overhead kick from Jude Bellingham against Slovakia to survive an early scare, but have been given another test by Switzerland. While Switzerland have never made it into the final four of a major tournament before now, their fine displays at Euro 2024 show they can match even the best teams present.
