Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

Delhi Capitals will look to maintain their winning momentum following an exhilarating one-wicket win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), when they face Sunrisers Hyderabad at the ACA VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. KL Rahul’s return should help the visitors, while Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are still searching for their first victory after losing to LSG in their opener.

SRH’s batting struggles continued in their loss against LSG as they were bowled out for 163 in 18.3 overs. Aniket Verma and Heinrich Klaasen did well to counterattack against an otherwise poor batting display from Ishan Kishan and Nitish Reddy but the rest of their order capitulated quickly despite some promising efforts by Aniket Verma and Heinrich Klaasen. Ishan Kishan and Nitish Reddy will look to turn things around when facing Delhi next time around!

DC are riding high following their thrilling win against LSG and Axar Patel’s side will look to keep up their good form, including Vipraj Nigam, Heinrich Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs amongst others. A strong showing is expected on Sunday.

Mitchell Starc to Ishan Kishan. Flighted outside off, Kishan attempts to grab on to Mitchell Starc’s width but instead hits it straight backward point where Wiaan Mulder dives backwards and takes an impressive catch! SRH are down to 20/2 after just two overs.

Axar Patel delivers another maiden over, as Delhi continue to dominate in the Powerplay. He tosses wide but it finds Heinrich Klaasen who attempts slog sweeping but misses, sending it towards cover for one run.

Axar delivered another maiden over as Delhi closed off their Powerplay with an unassailable lead of 83/3 in 16 overs – KL Rahul made his debut for DC as Sameer Rizvi was absent due to being at his wife’s birth – and will look to add runs this season – having missed DC’s opening game against LSG because he missed DC’s opening match against LSG because of being at his wife’s birth as Sameer Rizvi had missed DC’s opener against LSG; they completed another convincing win against SRH and maintained their unbeaten start on season 2.

DC vs SRH Live Score

SRH have continued their poor run in IPL 2025 as they suffered an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants in their most recent match. Hoping to regain momentum against Delhi Capitals – who will be buoyed by KL Rahul returning to their squad – may prove crucial in getting them back on track with IPL 2025 campaign.

These two teams will meet up in an important clash at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Sunday afternoon. Delhi Capitals have had an excellent start to their campaign and currently occupy one of two top spots on the table while Sunrisers Hyderabad have struggled mightily with their batting, leaving them languishing at the bottom.

A rapid succession of wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad saw them slip from an impressive 163 total to an all out total of 160 all out in just 16 overs, the pivot point in which was Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan’s dismissals; following which their middle order fell apart with only Aniket Verma and Heinrich Klaasen offering any resistance.

DC’s batsmen have been impressive so far this season and will look to continue this good run of form against teams outside of the top four. Unfortunately, DC have yet to secure victory against an outside opponent.

Both teams need a win to qualify for the playoffs and vie for that coveted number one position. A victory on either side would ensure their safe arrival into the play-offs, providing another opportunity to compete for their desired playoff spot.

Previous meetings between these teams have been thrilling to watch, featuring thrilling and jaw-dropping action. Both squads boast incredible rosters with each side possessing outstanding individual players who can prove critical in victory or defeat.

At their last encounter at ACA-VDCA Stadium, SRH edged out DC by five wickets. Both teams will aim to achieve victory this time around by performing well both on the field and at bat to meet their respective goals.

Pat Cummins won the coin toss and elected to bat first. DC openers Axar Patel and Fraser McGurk began well, hitting several fours and sixes before eventually being dismissed by Mitchell Starc and helping SRH recover to score an admirable total of 164 runs in 18.4 overs.

SRH got off to a strong start this season with an emphatic win against Rajasthan Royals behind an explosive performance by Travis Head, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen’s bats. However, their form wasn’t repeated against Lucknow Super Giants where they fell short of reaching their target of 200 runs.

Rishabh Pant’s side suffered a five-wicket loss against LSG after Nicholas Pooran scored an unbeaten unbeaten 66 off 26 deliveries, which gave Rishabh Pant an opportunity to rebound against one of Delhi’s strongest teams in their next matchup.

KL Rahul’s return to DC’s lineup should help strengthen their batting unit. Rahul missed the opening match due to paternity leave and will bring much-needed experience and leadership to Delhi’s batting order.

Jake Fraser-McGurk and Faf du Plessis made a cautious start to their innings against DC opener Mohammed Shami’s first over. But South Africa took control in the powerplay over Mohammed Shami, smashing away at every ball they faced with reckless abandon.

Faf du Plessis continued his devastating assault on the Sunrisers attack in the third over, striking Pat Cummins for sixes and fours to bring up his fifty off 26 balls and put DC in an excellent position at midway point in their innings.

Kuldeep Yadav delivered a short delivery that fell victim to Fraser-McGurk at long-on and was caught off a brilliant pull shot shot from Delhi batsman Sanjay Manjrekar for just 1 run, ending his innings and marking its end. Fraser-McGurk caught it spectacularly and marked an outstanding innings from Delhi batsman Manjrekar.
