After an unimpressive start to their season, Tennessee can regain their form against Miami Dolphins with a home game at Nissan Stadium on September 15. While neither team has scored more than 30 points yet this season, Tennessee’s defense is better at keeping opponents out of the end zone than that of their opponent whereas Miami offers top pass offense but bottom run defense numbers.
The Titans have struggled offensively due to their inability to develop consistent playmakers. Wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley have found open passing lanes on occasion, but more is required from other receiving options. Furthermore, running back De’Von Achane only managed one 100-yard rush this season.
Another key area for improvement for the Titans is preventing turnovers. Their league-worst turnover ratio stands at minus-7; quarterback Will Levis’ inability to protect the ball has proven especially problematic as he’s already thrown seven interceptions and lost two fumbles this year alone!
The Dolphins have struggled from the outset and now only stand a 0.0% chance of reaching the playoffs overall; that makes it one of the lowest playoff percentages among teams that started 0-4.
At any rate, the team can still find success against the Titans by winning. But in order to do that, improvements must be seen both defensively and running-wise – particularly defense since top-five defense Titans don’t always produce consistent pass rush. They must improve this aspect if they wish to stop Dolphins scoring large sums of points against them.

Tennessee Titans will look to end their losing streak against Miami Dolphins when they take on Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for Monday Night Football on Monday, starting at 7:30 PM EST. Will Levis is yet to impress thus far as their second-year quarterback, throwing three interceptions and losing two fumbles during his three games, leading them to an anemic negative seven turnover ratio which ranks dead last among NFL teams.
The Dolphins suffered an impressive 24-3 win against Seattle Seahawks in Week 3, yet their quarterback situation remains in flux, with backup Skylar Thompson suffering a rib injury and unlikely to play against Tennessee Titans. Head coach Mike McDaniel has yet to announce whether or not he plans on using Tim Boyle or Tyler Huntley instead of Skylar Thompson against Titans.
Both teams are struggling to generate offense, making the matchup likely to be low scoring. Miami’s defense – sixth overall in points allowed by the league – could force some turnovers against an underachieving Titans team averaging only 16 points per game this year. Meanwhile, Marcus Mariota and his underperforming offensive line may find it challenging to find running games that support quarterback play.

Even through their struggles, the Titans remain competitive for AFC South championship. To guarantee themselves a playoff berth and gain momentum toward that goal, winning their remaining four games and scoring a win against Miami Dolphins would be a significant boost in that effort.
The Dolphins must address their quarterback situation, which has become an issue since starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was concussed during Week 2. Skylar Thompson struggled in Week 3, being sacked five times and losing two fumbles during a 24-3 loss against Seattle Seahawks; head coach Mike McDaniel hasn’t announced who will start against Tennessee Titans.
The Titans have struggled to establish a running game and require more production from their passing game. Last season, the team ranked 20th in pass attempts and 27th in rushing attempts; to remain competitive this season they need more consistent playmakers such as DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley to step forward and deliver consistent performances for them as targets if they want a chance at victory.

The Tennessee Titans (0-3) travel to Miami Gardens, Florida for their second Monday Night Football game in 10 months against the Dolphins (1-2). Tennessee has struggled on offense this year averaging only 160.0 passing yards per game; their defense has been impressive however; permitting only 40.2 rushing yards allowed per game and leading the NFL in fewest rushing yards allowed overall. This contest could prove pivotal to Tennessee avoiding an winless start.
This week’s “Monday Night Football” matchups pit two teams in dire need of victory: the Dolphins (1-1) have been decimated by injuries, while the Titans remain winless despite multiple chances. Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa remains sidelined due to concussion treatment while backup Skylar Thompson has an injury requiring medical attention; should either of these two be unavailable Tyler Huntley will get his chance behind center for the team for its inaugural performance of 2024.
Huntley may or may not be enough to turn around their fortunes for Miami Dolphins, but he certainly brings exciting traits to their quarterback position. Athletically gifted with good scrambling ability and an efficient throwing arm (despite getting sacked eight times in three games). Unfortunately, though, Huntley lacks optimal protection from PFF.
Tennessee’s primary concern, on the other hand, is an underperforming receiving corps. After an uneven start to the year, DeAndre Hopkins is finally finding his groove, catching 13 passes for 194 yards and one touchdown over his past three outings – providing Levis with plenty of targets against an opposing defense that has allowed the most passing yards this year.
At the core of it all lies the Dolphins’ inability to generate any offense, likely the deciding factor in this matchup. Just four weeks ago, this team had hopes of reaching Super Bowl 50 but injuries have since decimated its roster, leaving two quarterbacks sidelined, All-Pro tackle Terron Armstead with concussion issues and veteran cornerback Kendall Fuller questionable with a hamstring strain; their chances of victory look uncertain at best.
This game will air live on ESPN and be streamed via FuboTV (free trial), DirecTV Stream (free trial) and Sling TV (low intro rate). This must-watch matchup could hinge on whether or not the Dolphins can get their offensive ball rolling; otherwise, the Titans might cruise to an easy victory and set themselves up for another blowout win.
