India vs Bangladesh

India defeated Bangladesh in their inaugural Twenty20 international of this series at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on October 9. India showed impressive control with both bat and ball, amassing 297/6 runs off 47 balls courtesy of Sanju Samson’s career-best performance off 47 balls (an ICC second highest total). Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag also contributed with some aggressive hitting that helped reach this total score.

Indian bowlers displayed their superiority with the ball by restricting Bangladesh to just 164/7. Mayank Yadav made his international debut and impressed as he took three wickets – his maiden international wicket-taking haul! Varun Chakaravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi shared two wickets each to further cement India’s win.

Bangladesh were off to a poor start in their chase and struggled to keep up with the run rate, but captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Tanzid Hasan Tamim came back strongly with an unbroken 68-run partnership that kept Bangladesh within striking distance until they were dismissed under pressure and collapsed further down their order.

Ajay Jadeja described this incident as a turning point for Indian cricket and stressed the significance of having a selfless approach that supports each player’s performances. He stressed the need for strong bench strength across batting and bowling – Coach Gautam Gambhir had reminded them never to lose sight of their team goals no matter if you were 49th man or 99th batsman!

Chittagong will host the second T20I game of this series on October 12, with live telecast available through Sports18 Network in India and JioCinema app globally. Live streaming of both platforms will begin at 9:00 am IST. Ajay Jadeja holds high hopes for this matchup between two of the top teams in T20Is; winning will bring confidence for subsequent matches of this series; Ajay hopes for yet another victory and taking another step toward becoming No 1 in T20I rankings rankings.

India 1st innings score

India have easily defeated Bangladesh in the opening T20 International by seven wickets and an overwhelming margin. Sanju Samson earned Man of the Match accolades for hitting an exceptional 111 (47) that contained 11 boundaries and eight sixes to guide India to an incredible total of 297 – the highest total by any ICC full member nation ever seen in T20Is. Although their innings started slowly, batsmen steadily built on their score. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj performed admirably as bowling forces against Bangladeshi batsmen.

India took an early advantage in their chase as Samson and Abhishek Sharma quickly settled down. Both players struck two boundaries each in their opening over to set themselves up for big scores. Meanwhile, Bangladesh struggled to keep up with India’s scoring rate and lost several wickets along the way.

Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hassan Miraz were the first two Bangladeshi batters to depart, leaving their side trailing by 127 runs short of reaching their target. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto expressed disappointment with their performance and felt they should have batted more to exert pressure on India.

After their disappointing Test series performance, Bangladesh will look to restore their pride by competing strongly in this T20I series. They will need to improve both batting and fielding to hold off hosts Australia.

Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy will be key for India as they look to build upon their three-match T20I win against New Zealand and Ireland this year, but will need support from other batters if they hope to extend their winning streak against Bangladesh on Sunday.

India have named Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya (c), Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya (wk), Rinku Singh and Rinku Singh as substitutes; Hardik Pandya has been replaced by Washington Sundar with Nitish Kumar Reddy taking his place on the field along with Ravi Bishnoi who will not feature. Bangladesh 2nd innings score

At first, this Test seemed like it might be sleepy; but in its fourth day it exploded with an explosive contest between two sides that seemed equally adept at playing Test cricket. India, who are considered invincible at home, were completely in control as they bowled Bangladesh out for just 164/7, assisted by Rishabh Pant’s brilliant batsmanship who scored his second hundred of this series.

Jasprit Bumrah took the final wicket to end Bangladesh’s innings and ensure that India would win by an overwhelming margin. His slower delivery hit Mushfiqur Rahim on his pads before being caught at long-on by Litton Das. Rahim fell for 37.

Bangladesh had a stellar start to their innings as they raced to 14/0 within nine overs, but during the final five overs they lost three wickets for just one run – Litton Das taking two catches in one over, while Akash Deep clean-bowled both Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque to send them back into their pavilions.

India are well in control of this match and need only 95 runs to seal their victory. On day four they displayed more aggression with Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring an outstanding fifty. Bangladesh struggled to cope with India’s pace and spin attack as their batsmen fell by 133 runs; marking Bangladesh’s largest loss ever on this tour of India.

Bangladesh have experienced an underwhelming series against South Africa so far, who held high hopes before their trip. But they aim to recover in their two-Test series against them beginning October 21, and can use this chance to find their batting lineup which has been struggling recently. With numerous changes made throughout their squad it will be interesting to watch how they perform; Bangladesh boasts many talented players but have struggled on the big stage; to be competitive they must focus on improving on any weaknesses they possess and work on improving themselves to compete with the best teams globally.

India 3rd innings score

Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya produced an outstanding batting display to lead India to 297/6 in T20Is against Bangladesh – marking both their second-highest total ever ever by any full member team and biggest T20I score ever against them. Rohit Sharma was delighted by both their bowlers and batsmen performance; believing their momentum will carry forward as India continue their campaign.

Rishabh Pant was also given much praise by Indian captain Virat Kohli after making 109 off just 127 balls in just 30 overs. Kohli noted how impressively Rishabh has managed himself through difficult circumstances; adding that it was crucial that Rishabh play at such an elevated level.

At the same time, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto expressed displeasure with how often wickets fell for his side and conceded it was difficult to maintain run chase in the final session of play. He expressed hope that their batsmen would score enough runs in future matches.

Bangladesh have begun their unlikely pursuit of 298 in pursuit of Parvez Emon and Litton Das. Unfortunately for them they must meet the pace set by Mayank Agarwal and Ravichandran Ashwin; both players possessing excellent pace themselves. An on field slip for Emon has also been placed.

Left-hander strikes four! His bowler rolls it effortlessly over deep midwicket for six, before smashing straight down the ground for another boundary as he gets closer and closer to reaching 100 runs.

At first ball, Rinku Singh took a great catch to secure another boundary of this innings. A short delivery failed to strike home for the batsman who failed to get his hands on it before it sliced high into the air where Rinku Singh caught it easily.

Indian cricket team completes a comfortable seven-wicket win against Bangladesh at New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior to take an early 1-0 lead in three-match series; teams now head off to Kanpur for second Test where both sides aim to make an impressionful statement about where they stand in series.
